Kamei No Yu in Yamanouchi was an enchanting escape that blended traditional charm with modern comfort-just what my trekking companions and I needed after a long climb! The rustic ryokan had space enough for our team, plus a stunning view of the serene Japanese garden and turning water wheel, allowing us to unwind under the soft glow of ambient lighting. Dinner was a highlight, showcasing the rich flavors of local Nagano ingredients, and the kaiseki was a feast for both the eyes and palate; I could still savor the Kijimadaira's Koshihikari rice! The warm, attentive staff made our stay truly memorable, accommodating our every request without being intrusive, which any trekker can appreciate. Just a short walk from Yudanaka Onsen and the monkey park, this charm-filled haven is perfect for adventurous souls seeking both peace and gourmet experiences. Highly recommending this spot for its serene environment and exquisite hospitality!
